Corporate Healthcare Services
Lifescan CT health checks are only available to people aged 40 and over. Any employees under the age or 40 would not be eligible under our clinical protocols. However, you may wish to select one of our other health checks like the Essential Check. In much the same was as mammograms are generally only available to women over the age of 40, CT health checks are only available to those deemed to be at a higher risk of developing preventable diseases such as heart disease.
The following Lifescan health checks can be provided as part of your corporate healthcare service:
Cardio Check: The heart is the most important part of the human body and as such the Cardio Check has been designed to help avoid the risk of heart attack, stroke or cardiovascular disease.
| Includes: |
Heart scan – provides detailed information about the condition of the coronary arteries and can indicate more precisely the risk of a heart attack or stroke. The scan is looking for calcium build up in the arteries, which indicates the very early stages of heart and vascular disease – long before any symptoms are present. The more calcium (plaque) there is the greater the risk of having a heart attack or stroke. However, if calcium is detected early, modern treatments and lifestyle changes can make all the difference and help avoid future heart attack and stroke.
Full lipid profile (cholesterol) – a blood test giving a breakdown of cholesterol ( blood fat) result, including HDL and LDL cholesterol and triglycerides.
ECG (heart rhythm) – looking for an irregular heart beat, which can cause a stroke.

Other health checks available:
Mole Checks: Many of us have moles, and the vast majority are completely harmless – however they should still be checked regularly. Over the last 25 years the incidence of malignant melanoma has risen more than any other major cancer – largely due to excessive exposure to ultra violet light on holidays in the sun or from sunbeds. Lifescan’s Mole Checks use advanced skin imaging software in conjunction with SIAscopy, a unique infrared scanning technology. to investigate suspect moles quickly and painlessly.
| Includes: |
Full visual examination - an initial check of any specific moles the patient may be concerned about, but also to ensure we check any moles not always visible to the patient.
Clinical photograph – in order that our Consultant Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon can fully visualise any suspect moles after your appointment.
SIAscope scan – for any moles requiring further assessment, a handheld imaging probe is held against the mole for a few seconds. This shines four beams of light through the skin. The beams are reflected back by the skins different components and provide information about the characteristics of the mole and the tissue under it to a depth of approximately 2mm. The information obtained is presented as five detailed images (or SIAgraphs), which are then analysed for any potential signs of abnormality.
Age: 18+ |
Essential Check: A mini health assessment aimed at raising awareness of key health issues such as cardiovascular risk factors and pulmonary (lung) function.
