This is the most detailed CT health check service offered by Lifescan for those aged 45+. It incorporates all the CT scan elements of the Corporate Premier Check but also includes the Virtual Colonoscopy to provide an effective method of detecting the early signs of colon cancer.
Provides detailed information about the condition of the coronary arteries and can indicate more precisely the risk of a heart attack or stroke. The scan is looking for calcium build up in the arteries, which indicates the very early stages of heart and vascular disease – long before any symptoms are present. The more calcium (plaque) there is the greater the risk of having a heart attack or stroke. However, if calcium is detected early, modern treatments and lifestyle changes can make all the difference and help avoid future heart attack and stroke.
Captures hundreds of exceptionally detailed images from outside the body. The images build up a complete picture of the colon, which enables the Consultant Radiologist to undertake a ‘fly through’ of the entire colon allowing for visualisation of any small polyps or changes in the bowel such as diverticular disease. The virtual colonoscopy also includes an Abdomen Scan to gains images of the other abdominal organs such as the liver, kidneys, pancreas, gallbladder and spleen.
This is aimed at looking for any deterioration in the density of your bones, which could indicate the early signs of osteoporosis. If detected at an early stage (osteopenia), changes in lifestyle and/or specially designed drugs can help to prevent further progression of this debilitating illness.
A blood test giving a breakdown of your cholesterol (blood fat) result, including HDL and LDL (the so called ‘good’ and ‘bad’ cholesterols) and triglycerides – a high level of cholesterol increases your risk of cardiovascular disease.
Early indicator of prostate cancer for men.
Early indicator of ovarian cancer for women.
To establish how well your lungs are currently functioning.
Measurement of height, weight and blood pressure; calculation of your body mass index; and a test of your urine to check for any evidence of protein or blood in your urine.
Note:
The Corporate Premier Enhanced Check involves the need to prepare the bowel for the virtual colonoscopy. This will mean following a change in your diet for two days before your appointment and taking a laxative. All details relating to this will be discussed with you at the time of booking your appointment.
Before any booking can be completed, we will need to ensure you are eligible for any aspect of the appointment against our cinical referral criteria.
